Wow, I hadn't even seen the previews for this on TV. Have you seen longer previews? Is this about the slave movement of the time or the reason the hymn was written or is that all just the same, I wonder. Not likely that I will forget about this movie coming out, it's on my husbands birthday. Dinner and a show!
The movie is about William Wilberforce and his attempt to end slavery in England. It ties into the song because John Newton (the writer) was a former slave owner before becoming a Christian.
